Hi, my name is Jim McIntyre and I really am taller than the average man! Topping out at 6′ 8” -I think I’ve shrunk a bit as I’ve gotten older- the average height in the U.S. for men is around 5′ 9”. I’m not the tallest guy around, but most of the time where I go I am the tallest person and can see the tops of everyone’s head (except when sitting down, of course). I have gotten a small glimpse of what it is like for most people when I run into someone taller than me -it’s really weird!

I’m still married to the same woman since 1980 and have children and grandchildren. Being married to my lovely wife has been a great benefit to me and helps make me who I am. It is still a mystery to me how the two of us are one flesh1, but the sharing of our lives has had a profound effect on both of us for the better. (I share a bit more on my view of marriage in my post, Graduation Speech Causes Crying.)
I have worked many different jobs over the years including as a printer, car salesman, carpenter, computer programmer, and now managing a few rent houses we own. However, the most important thing to know about me, is that my life was radically transformed when I believed in Jesus, a few months before I turned 21. I didn’t understand very much at the time, because I was steeped in the world’s knowledge instead of God’s wisdom. I am having to unlearn those lessons and am renewing my mind by learning what the Bible has to say about God, life, and myself. Therefore I am still seeking the Truth that leads to life!
1 Speaking about marriage, Jesus said, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” (Matthew 19:6)
